A new build by Allied Works Architecture is destined for my neighborhood on North Mississippi Ave. Walking up and down Mississippi Ave this lot was an abandoned home for a long time. When the home came down last year I was super curious as to what would be going up as it is next to another large vacant lot. It’ll surely be an intriguing design for the block.

The Harvey Rice Heritage Project is bringing major affordable housing developments to Portland! In the Winter of 2022, two new developments are going up on NE 14th and NE 72nd, totaling 41 apartments for community members in need of rent assistance. The two buildings will carry the namesake of Isaka Shamsud-Din and Charlotte Lewis, honoring two of Portland’s Black artists and recognizing their impact on the community.

Portland’s Central Eastside is making moves! For years, Portland has been on the quest towards carbon neutrality, yet commercial buildings are still the main source of carbon pollution in the city. Killian Pacific is spearheading the movement by redesigning and reinventing Portland’s Central Eastside. Once home to the majority of Portland’s factories, the quadrant’s lifeblood is now drawn from tech companies and creative-driven businesses.

Portlanders have experienced firsthand the impact of population growth in the city, whether you’ve sat bumper-to-bumper heading into the city or endured a 2-hour wait for your favorite downtown eatery. By 2035 the city is estimated to increase the number of households by 1.4%… that’s 100,000 households!

Affordable housing for all! Catholic Charities and Related Northwest have made a collaborative effort to bring a multifamily construction project, Cathedral Village Apartments, to fruition.
