A new build by Allied Works Architecture is destined for my neighborhood on North Mississippi Ave. Walking up and down Mississippi Ave this lot was an abandoned home for a long time. When the home came down last year I was super curious as to what would be going up as it is next to another large vacant lot. It’ll surely be an intriguing design for the block.

In the Winter of 2022, two new developments are going up on NE 14th and NE 72nd, totaling 41 apartments for community members in need of rent assistance. The two buildings will carry the namesake of Isaka Shamsud-Din and Charlotte Lewis, honoring two of Portland’s Black artists and recognizing their impact on the community.
